Chat problems - I don't see status circles next to my friends' pictures

First, please make sure you're online in chat by clicking on your profile picture and selecting "Go online".

If you're having trouble going online or offline in chat, this usually happens when when some network ports are blocked, such as when there’s a proxy network, firewall, or a restricted / corporate internet network. Please make sure that your proxy or firewall allows RockMelt network activity. Please also check the chat bar on the bottom right of facebook.com and make sure the you're not offline there or offline to certain lists (your status should be green).

 

If none of the above help you, please help us investigate by emailing questions-at-rockmelt.com with the following info:

1) What problems are you having and what type of internet connection you're using. Please also include any details around when the problem happens (recovering from standby mode, switching between wireless and ethernet connection, etc)

2) What OS version you use

3) Attach the rockmelt_debug.log file found here:

Mac:
Click on your desktop > Press shift + cmd + G > type ~/Library in the Go To window -> Application Support -> RockMelt
 

Win 7 or Vista: Start Menu -> then copy and paste in: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\RockMelt\User Data

 

Win XP: Start Menu -> Run -> then copy and paste in: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\RockMelt\User Data
