My download times out / takes too long

If your RockMelt download times out, stops, or otherwise fails to complete, this is likely because of firewall / proxy / network issues. Please check your internet connection or reset your browser settings.

Sometimes, a DNS flush can help. To try this for Windows:

1)      Click Start and type CMD in the search box. 

2)      In the command prompt, type the following and press enter: ipconfig /flushdns

3)      Now try to download a file again – does it work?

 

If you’re using Mac, can you try:

1)      Open the “Terminal” application

2)      Type in the following and press enter: dscacheutil –flushcache

3)      Try downloading again

 

If none of the above work, users have told us that downloading RockMelt from another location - library, cafe, work, etc - can help.
